Task email digest

Brick emails you your open tasks at 7am. The email is on by default, so there is nothing to set up.

What the email contains#

The email has three sections: Overdue, Due today, and Upcoming. Upcoming is anything due in the next seven days.

The email shows only tasks assigned to you that are still open and have a due date. A completed task or a task with no due date never appears.

The email starts with your name and the same counts, then a View all tasks button. Each task is its own card: the first line of the task, its due date, and one contact or deal it is attached to. A task with several records shows one of them, a record you picked by hand before one held by a mention. Click the record name to open that record. An overdue date is red. A section stops at ten tasks. The + N more line under it opens the Tasks page.

The subject line carries the date and the counts, so you can read it from the notification without opening the email: 31 Aug → 1 task overdue, 1 task due today and 1 task coming up. A weekly digest starts with Week of 31 Aug instead. Only the sections that have something in them appear, in the subject and in the email.

If all three sections are empty, Brick sends no email that day.

Choose daily, weekly, or off#

  1. Open Settings with the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Notifications.
  2. The first section is Email digest. The Send my digest row has a dropdown on the right.
  3. Pick Daily, Weekly (Mondays), or Off. The change saves as you pick it. There is no Save button.

Daily is the default. While the digest is on, the row also shows which address it goes to. That is the email you sign in with. When it is off, the row reads Turned off. Brick won't email you about your tasks.

This setting is how you turn the digest off, and how you turn it back on. The Manage this digest in Settings link in the email footer opens the same page.

When it arrives#

Every send is 7:00 AM Eastern, whatever time zone you are in. Brick does not yet send at your own local time.

Brick decides what counts as "today" by the Eastern date at send time. If you are in a different time zone, a task due today can show as due today a few hours before or after your own midnight.
