Notifications

Brick sends you two kinds of mail: a digest of your tasks, and notifications about client conversations. Both are in Settings → Notifications.

The task digest#

The first section on the page, Email digest, is the morning email of your overdue, due-today, and upcoming tasks. Pick Daily, Weekly (Mondays), or Off in the Send my digest row. It is set to Daily until you change it. See Task email digest for what the email contains and when it arrives.

Conversation notifications#

The Conversations section is a grid. The Notify me about column lists what a client can do: New email, New text, Missed call, Voicemail, and Reminders for a conversation reminder that comes due. The other columns are App, Email and Text. Tick a box to be told that way.

  • App is on for every row until you change it. These notifications appear in the bell at the top of your sidebar.
  • Email is off until you turn it on. It goes to your account email, and it does not need a connected Gmail.
  • Text is off until you turn it on. It goes to the cell number on your profile, from a Brick number that is not your own, and you cannot reply to it. Without a cell number the column is greyed out, and its tooltip says Add your cell number in Settings → Profile to get texts.

Brick groups a busy spell into one message, so a run of new mail never floods your phone.

Turning something off#

Every one of these is a setting on this page, not an unsubscribe link in a footer. You turn it off here, and you turn it back on in the same place.

Untick App for a row and that kind leaves the bell. With all three boxes off, nothing tells you, but the conversation still shows in the Inbox and counts in the sidebar's Inbox badge.
