Profile and sign-in
Your account is the email address you sign in with. Everything about it lives on the sign-in page and in Settings → Profile.
Open the sign-in page. It has two ways in, and both reach the same account.
- Click Sign in with Google and pick the Google account that matches your Brick email. Brick sends you to Google and back. Brick gets only your name and email address from Google. Connecting your mailbox is a separate step, in Settings → Email and calendar accounts.
- Or type your Email and Password and click Sign in.
A wrong password keeps you on the page and shows the reason above the Sign in button.
If you first created your account with a password and later click Sign in with Google with the same email, Google signs you into that same account. You do not get a second account or a second workspace. If Brick cannot join the two, it says so: An account with this email already exists. Sign in with your email and password below.
If you opened a Brick page while signed out, the sign-in page takes you to that page once you are in. Otherwise Brick opens on the Inbox.
Brick is invite-only. There is no sign-up form; the Sign up link under the form opens a page that says so and offers Get on the list for the waitlist. You create your account from the Accept Invite link in your invitation email, and the account must use the email address the invitation was sent to. A Google account with no invitation gets Brick is invite-only right now. Open the "Accept Invite" link in your invitation email, and use the Google account that matches the invited address.
Forgot your password#
The sign-in page has no reset-password link. Click Contact support under the form, type the email address you sign in with, describe the problem, and send it. Support gets you back in.
Sign out#
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar. This is the User menu. It shows your name, your email, and the name of your workspace, and it holds Changelog, Settings, and Sign out.
Click Sign out. Brick returns you to the sign-in page.
Edit your name and profile picture#
Open Settings with the gear at the bottom of the sidebar, or from the User menu. Settings opens on Profile.
Every box on this page saves on its own. Type a value, then click anywhere else or press Tab. A Saved profile message confirms it. If the save fails, the box goes back to its old value and Brick says Couldn't save your profile. Try again. There is no save button.
- First name and Last name: your name as it appears in the User menu and in the default email signature. See Email signature.
- Profile Picture: click Upload new image and pick a PNG, JPEG, or GIF under 10 MB. The trash button next to it (Remove photo) removes the picture. It is greyed out while you have none. Without a picture, Brick shows your initials.
Your email, phone, title and brokerage#
- Primary email is the address you sign in with. Brick shows it for reference. There is no way to change it in Brick.
- Phone number is your own cell number. Type the ten digits; Brick formats them as
(416) 555-1234as you type. With fewer digits, Enter a 10-digit phone number. shows under the box, and Brick saves nothing until you fix it. Clear the box to remove the number. This is where a client's call to your Brick number rings. Your Brick number is a different number, in Settings → Phone. See Calls and texts. - Title and Brokerage are how you describe yourself professionally, for example
Sales RepresentativeandRE/MAX Hallmark. Each is optional and takes up to 60 characters. Clear a box to remove its value.
Light or dark theme#
Below your profile is the Appearance section with one Theme dropdown.
- Match my computer (the default): Brick follows your computer's light or dark setting and changes with it.
- Light: Brick always uses the light theme.
- Dark: Brick always uses the dark theme.
The caption under Theme confirms the choice. It applies at once.
Brick saves the theme in the browser, not in your account. Brick on a second computer, or in a second browser, uses that browser's own setting until you change it there. ⌘K also has a Toggle theme command that switches to the other theme.
Delete your workspace#
At the bottom of the Profile page is the Danger Zone. Delete Workspace removes your workspace and everything in it: every contact, deal, task, note, list, and conversation, plus your sign-in. You cannot undo it.
- Click Delete Workspace.
- In the dialog, type your sign-in email in the box to confirm. The dialog shows the address to type; capitals do not matter.
- Pick a reason under Reason for deleting workspace. If you pick Other (explain below), write at least 20 characters under Additional feedback.
- Click the dialog's Delete Workspace button. It stays greyed out until the email matches, you pick a reason, and, for Other, the feedback is long enough.
Brick keeps only your email and the reason you gave. It deletes the workspace, signs you out, and returns you to the sign-in page.
To stop syncing one Google account and keep everything else, do not delete the workspace. Remove the mailbox instead. See Email and calendar accounts.
