Privacy Policy

Brick AI Technologies Inc. ("Brick", "we", "us", "our") explains here what we do with personal information, which means information about an identifiable person. This policy covers your personal information, and the personal information of the clients whose records you keep in Brick.

By using Brick you accept this policy. If you have a question about it, write to security@brickai.to.

Your information, and your clients'

You hold the Brick account, and this policy covers the information we collect about you.

Your clients are different. Brick stores the contacts, messages, calls and deals that make up your business: you decide what goes in and who sees it, and we process it on your instruction. You are responsible for that information, and for following the law and the professional rules that apply to you when you collect it, use it and communicate with your clients.

If you found this page because a real estate agent holds information about you in Brick, ask the agent. They control that record, and we act on their instruction.

What we collect, and what we use it for

When you get an account we collect your name, email address, password and phone number, and anything else you later add to your profile. As you use Brick we hold the records you create: contacts, notes, tasks, deals and listings. If you connect a Google account we sync your email and calendar, which the next section covers. If you use your Brick number we hold your texts, and the recordings, transcripts and summaries of your calls. If you join the waitlist or write to us from brickai.to we keep your name, email address and what you wrote. We also collect your IP address, your browser and device, and the pages you open.

We use all of it to:

  • Provide Brick and keep your account working.
  • Sync your email and calendar, and send and receive email, texts and calls on your behalf.
  • Answer you when you contact us.
  • Find and fix problems, and see which features get used.
  • Give you access to restricted listing data, which real estate boards and associations require us to control.
  • Tell you about your account, and about Brick where you have agreed to hear from us. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop by writing to security@brickai.to.
  • Meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google user data

When you connect a Google account, Brick reads your Gmail messages and Google Calendar events, so that they appear against the right contact and you can work with them inside Brick.

  • We limit our use of Google user data to providing and improving user-facing features that are prominent in Brick's interface.
  • We do not transfer this data to others except to provide or improve those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
  • We do not allow humans to read this data unless you give us affirmative agreement for specific messages, it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
  • We never use Google user data for advertising, and never sell it.

Brick's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect a connected account at any time in Settings. Disconnecting deletes that account's synced email and calendar events, and asks Google to revoke our access.

Websites we host for real estate agents

Brick can build and host a website for you on your own domain. When a visitor sends a message through that website, the message comes to you in Brick.

If you are that visitor: your message went to the agent whose website you used. They control it, and they are the person to ask about it. We hold it on their behalf.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We do use other companies to run parts of Brick, such as hosting, telephony, email delivery, analytics and the AI that answers your questions and writes your website. They receive only what they need for that work, they may use it only to do it for us, and they are bound to keep it confidential. The AI companies we use are not permitted to train their models on what we send them.

Most of them hold the information in the United States, where courts and law enforcement can require access to it under that country's law. To ask who they are, write to security@brickai.to.

When we have to share information

We may disclose personal information where the law requires it, such as to answer a court order, a subpoena or a lawful request from a regulator or law enforcement. We may also disclose it to protect the rights, property or safety of Brick, our customers or the public.

If we are acquired, merge with another company, enter bankruptcy or go through another change of control, personal information may be among the assets transferred. We will require the acquiring party to handle it in line with this policy, or to give you notice before it changes.

Real estate boards and listing data

The listing data in Brick comes from real estate boards and associations, through our data supplier, under their rules. Those rules let a board, or someone it authorizes, audit how the data is used. Where a board requires it, we share what is needed for that audit, for the security of the data, and for related legal purposes.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your choices. We also use analytics and diagnostic tools that record how Brick is used, so that we can find problems and see which features matter.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal, which has no agreed meaning, so we do not act on it.

How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to run Brick, and after that for as long as the law requires.

You can delete your account yourself, in Settings. Deleting your account removes your workspace and the records in it from Brick, and you cannot get them back. We keep a note of the reason you gave for leaving.

Other companies' websites

This policy covers Brick only. Anything you reach through a link in Brick, and content we embed from other companies, is governed by their own privacy policies.

Security

We encrypt information in transit, we store it with providers that encrypt their disks, and we limit who can reach it. No security measure is perfect, and no method of sending information over the internet can be guaranteed against interception or misuse.

If information is lost or exposed in a way that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and the provincial laws of Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, and withdraw your consent.

Write to security@brickai.to. We will answer within 30 days, or tell you in writing when we need more time. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the privacy regulator in your province.

Children

Brick is for real estate agents. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 holds an account, we close it.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy. We will post the new version on this page, and we may tell you by email. If you keep using Brick after a change, you accept it.
