Manually log a call, text or meeting Brick did not capture

Brick records the emails in your synced mailbox, the texts and calls on your Brick number, and the meetings in your synced calendar. It does not record a call from your own mobile, or a meeting in a cafe. You can now enter one by hand, and Brick counts it as an interaction.

Three kinds, one form#

A Call, a Text or a Meeting. A text covers any messaging app: SMS, iMessage or WhatsApp.

The form asks four things: what happened, the date, who it was with, and a summary. The date can carry a time, and With takes up to 50 contacts. There is no logged email: connect a mailbox instead.

Log it where you already are#

Log activity is at the top of the Activity block and the Activity tab on a contact record, and in the action row under the name. At the default column width it is in the More actions menu. The Calls, Texts and Meetings tabs each have their own button. In the Contacts table, point at a Call, Text, Meeting or Interaction cell for a + at its right.

Or tell Ask Brick. Say "I had coffee with Dana yesterday". It shows a card with the kind, the date, the people and the summary. Click any value to change it. Brick writes nothing until you confirm.

It moves your interaction dates#

A logged call moves First Call Interaction and Last Call Interaction. A logged text moves First Text Interaction and Last Text Interaction. A logged meeting moves First Meeting and Last Meeting. All three also move First Interaction and Last Interaction, for every contact on it. The calendar columns now have simpler names: First Meeting, Last Meeting and Next Meeting.

The row shows in each contact's Activity, and in the matching tab, dated when it happened. Point at the row for a ⋮ menu with Edit and Delete. After either one, Brick calculates the dates again, so a value can move back.

A future date counts after it passes#

Brick accepts a future date. A yellow notice tells you that it counts as an interaction after it passes. Until then it changes none of your dates, so Last Interaction can never read "in 3 days".

A future meeting is the one exception. It fills Next Meeting immediately, as a calendar meeting does.

A future call, text or meeting shows in the Upcoming block on the contact's Activity until its time passes.

What it deliberately does not do#

You log against contacts, never against a deal. A deal reads its dates from the contacts on it. If you log for the contact, the deal's dates move too.
