Last Interaction dates on contacts and deals

Every contact and every deal now carries the date of your last exchange with them, whichever way it happened. Last Interaction is already a column on your Contacts and Deals tables.

Everything counts as contact#

An interaction is an email either of you sent, a text either of you sent, any call that ended (answered, missed, voicemail, or a number that never picked up), and a meeting from your calendar, counted once its start time has passed.

Brick's own mail to you never counts. A search alert is not you talking to a client.

Eleven fields ship with it: first and last for each of email, text, call and calendar, first and last across all four together, and Next Calendar Interaction, the next meeting you already have booked with them. Every one of them can be added as a column, sorted on, and filtered.

Hover a date for the thing itself#

A cell reads "10 days ago". Hover it and a card opens with the exact time and the interaction it points at: the email's subject and first line, the text's body, who called whom and for how long, the meeting's title and hours.

If that conversation is still in your Inbox, the card carries an Open conversation link at the bottom.

The fields are read-only. They are Brick's record of what happened, not something to keep up to date by hand.

The Needs follow up view#

Your Contacts views include one called Needs follow up, set up and waiting: everyone you have not been in touch with for four weeks, longest-neglected first. The four weeks is relative, so the list moves with the calendar instead of freezing on the day it was made.

Contacts you have never spoken with are deliberately left out. A record with no history at all is usually junk, and following up means people you have actually talked to. A booked showing does not count as contact either. A meeting counts once it has happened, not before.

It is an ordinary view. Rename it, change its filters, or delete it. Deleting is permanent; Brick never puts it back.
